seven sisters

My first trip out of the city this year was in April on a crisp spring day to Seven Sisters, a series of chalk cliffs along the southern coast of England. My friend and I had been talking about doing this day trip since December, so when the weather forecast looked clear one Monday during spring break, we jumped at the chance to finally go after months of anticipation.

We followed this guide, taking the train from London to Seaford and ending in Eastbourne for the train home. I highly recommend doing the entire 20km walk if you're up for it. It took us approximately 7 hours, with various breaks between to eat a packed lunch and take in the view from various cliff tops, and I loved every minute of it. It was a much-needed break from city-in-lockdown life: as much as I loved my daily walks along Southbank or to St James Park, the salt air and cliffside views felt otherworldly in comparison.
